CLINICAL EDUCATION SPECIALIST

GENERAL PURPOSE

Clinical service and support is an integral part of Salient Surgical Technologies’s competitive strategy.  As part of our support service, our applications and technical support staff provides direct assistance in customer specific application requirements, including solutions to problems associated with the utilization and integration of Salient Surgical Technologies components.  It also provides the customer with support of technical and clinical expertise and application know-how, including periodic updates on new Salient Surgical Technologies developments. 

Clinical and Technical Support Specialists possess exceptional communication skills, technical and medical environment experience and vast breadth of physiology and anatomy knowledge.

Responsibilities include: Providing clinical/technical/product information; technical troubleshooting; general clinical and technical recommendations in response to customer, and field representative inquiries. Clinical and Technical Support Specialists work directly with the Sales, Marketing and Customer Service Departments to acquire/maintain technical information, monitor market information, formulate and update technical literature and attend conferences, and assist with customer and sales representative training.

Clinical and Technical Support Specialists work in an independent and team oriented environment.

The objective of the Clinical and Technical Support Specialist program is to raise Clinical and Technical IQ of the Customer and SST Sales Channel.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides customer education, often in the Operating Room, on Salient Surgical Technologies product technique, and reinforcement of clinical messages.
  • Provides reinforcement of clinical training to new sales reps
  • Develops strong relationships with key surgeons to leverage networking opportunities and peer selling.
  • Assists sales reps in following up on new potential customer leads.
  • Acts as a liaison between customers and Salient Surgical Technologies management regarding clinical or technical issues that arise. 
  • Supervise Clinical Evaluations

 

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Nursing/Clinical degree (Advanced degree preferred); and
  • Five years clinical experience as an Orthopaedic circulator, scrub tech, RN, or PA.
